About LA Sweeper Alert

A free tool to help LA residents avoid street cleaning tickets.

What it does

LA Sweeper Alert lets you look up the street cleaning schedule for your block and sign up for a one-time email or SMS reminder before the sweeper arrives. Once the sweep passes, your alert automatically expires — no account needed.

Data accuracy

Schedule data is sourced from LA Open Data (LADOT Posted Street Sweeping Routes). Schedules are matched by street name — if your street spans multiple sweeping routes, the closest match is shown. Always verify the posted signs on your block before relying solely on this service.

Street cleaning may be suspended on certain holidays. This service does not currently check for LA sanitation suspension days — always confirm with LADOT during holiday periods.

No liability

LA Sweeper Alert is provided as-is with no guarantees. We are not responsible for parking tickets, towing fees, or any other costs incurred as a result of relying on this service. When in doubt, check the physical signs on your block.

Privacy

We only store your email address or phone number for the sole purpose of sending your requested alert. We do not sell, share, or use your contact information for any other purpose. Subscriptions automatically expire after the sweep and are deleted from our system.

Service availability

This is a personal project maintained on a best-effort basis. We make no guarantees about uptime or delivery of alerts. Alerts depend on third-party services (AWS SES for email, AWS SNS for SMS) which may occasionally experience delays or outages.
